Introduction

The problem

Running a squad often involves a considerable amount of administrative overhead (or faff).

Anyone who has spent time around a rowing club has probably heard the following:

• "Hello chaps, Could you confirm availability for tonight, Saturday and Sunday?"
• "Please can you all confirm asap this afternoon your ARA numbers so that we can enter the eights head?"
• "I thought I told you I was getting married that weekend."
• "P.S. Are there circuits tonight?"

As a Coach I want my squad members to be able to see when new outings are scheduled. I need to be able to see which rowers are available for an outing. I want to be able to look ahead and allow for squad member's planned absences. I want to be able to retrieve relevant details such as ARA numbers, points and birth dates when completing regatta entire forms. I want to be able to delegate these tasks to senior squad members.

As a Rower I want to know when squad outings are scheduled I want to indicate my availability for these outings. I need to be able to contact my coach and squad members.

The solution

Squad list provides a set of simple tools to collect the relevant information and present it to the people who need to know.
