Squadlist

At some point this week, the system will be updated to add two new features:

Squads can be marked as inactive from the admin screen

You can mark squads as inactive by selecting the ‘Mark inactive’ link next to the squad name on the admin screen. Inactive squads are excluded from the squad drop down menus.

Rowers can see each others availability option

On the admin screen, under the new heading of ‘Permissions options’ there is check box named ‘Rowers can see other squad member’s availability’.

If this option is unchecked then rowers will only see their own availability on the squad availability screens. Squad reps and Coaches will continue to see everything as normal.

The motivation behind this option is explained in the words of the requesting coach:

We are trying to encourage athletes to be available most of the time and for this to be the norm. We have a theory that sometimes by looking at others availability then this might affect when they themselves are available, and in turn they then use squad list as means of picking and choosing when to turn up for rowing!

All existing copies will be left in the traditional, rowers can see each others’ availability mode after the update as this is the setting which seems to work best for most clubs. Admin users have the option of changing it at their discretion.
